Finally watched Take Shelter. I’ve been meaning to watch this for a while after having seen the trailer before I watched Drive, but I kept missing screenings in Leeds because I would be travelling.
First off, W-O-W. The film is fantastic! Stunning cinematography and amazing performances by Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain. I was blown away by the film. Seriously. And can someone tell me why Michael Shannon didn’t get an Oscar nomination? Pretty sure that his performance was worthy of a nomination and even an Oscar. I was indifferent to this years Best Actor nominees but after watching Take Shelter, I’m actually quite disappointed to not see Shannon’s name alongside the other nominees. Such a shame…
